Grand Tetons

I’d rather be here:

Seriously.  I am melting in all of this heat and am not sure how much longer I can take it.  I want to see mountains again, mountains!  And be in the cool air in the shade of a nice thick grove of lodgepole pines while sipping a rum drink listening to the birds sing.

  2. Absolutely gorgeous! My family and I love going up to Yosemite in the Fall. The trees are changing colors, it’s cool and crisp, and the mountains look spectacular with all the leave colors. Man, now I need to plan a trip.

  3. Thank you both for the compliments!
No road trip this year, although I do have a trip to San Antonio planned for later, by train. One of my difficulties in planning road trips is I sold my car 9 years ago and never replaced it so I have to find someone who wants to go with me AND has a car!

Yosemite in fall would be wonderful, and likely warmer than the Tetons in spring. When I took these pictures it was mid June and if it didn’t rain, it snowed. Although at this point I will trade 99 with a heat index of 107 for a little snow.

    • The last time we were in Yosemite, we got there at 75 degrees. The next day and the rest of the week it was 32 during the day. We live in the desert currently, so it was definitely a nice change.
