Istanbul

I visited this city some years back. It is a photographer’s dream. Unfortunately, I barely qualified as one back then. After some reediting recently, I’ve found a few I think are worth sharing.

From inside the gate of Topkapi palace, where the old sultans resided.

Also at the palace.

  1. The framing within those first two is amazing. With more experience often comes over-thinking the composition instead of relying on your instincts. Sometimes you see the beauty in a scene and capture it before you even realize what makes it beautiful.

Thanks! I know what you mean, though. As I’m going through my older pictures, I seemed to torture every angle into something worthy of the old “Batman” TV show. It was a while before I learned to just let the scene do the talking.
