The Palace Theater- Part the Stage Forward

One of the trickier aspects of a series on the Palace is that when exploring you walk into the main theater first and then spend time rummaging about the rest of the building.  My first reaction is to go look at THIS!

Then afterwards to follow up with what you say in yesterday’s post.  But that wouldn’t have been fair, now would it?

I’m not too sure there is much to say here really.  Other than I’m glad I braved the balcony for this photo.

  1. It was definitely worth braving the balcony – that picture is great, must I’m not sure i would have had the guts to go up there! Where are these pictures taken? Really enjoying your blog.

    • A few years ago I would not have had the guts to go up there, the more I’ve explored, the braver I’ve gotten.

These photos were taken inside The Palace Theater in Gary Indiana, same as the previous post. It has been closed since the mid to late 1970’s and standing vacant since. Scrappers stole most of the marble, time has done the rest of the work you see here.

      Thanks for all the compliments!

  2. I can’t help but look at that set backdrop and wonder what the last production was.

      • You just have to hope it was something respectable like the King and I and not something like Cats or Pee Wee Herman’s Playhouse. :D
